I discovered a passion for photography almost "accidentally". While I know I've always had a good eye for composition and a creative mind it wasn't until 2004 when I was given a point-and-shoot digital camera as a Christmas gift that I realized how much I loved it. Being a musician myself I have many friends in the Toronto music scene so I started taking portraits of some of them. After a few months people started e-mailing me to ask what my rates were. Eventually, I traded in my point-and-shoot for a digital SLR camera and Emma-Lee Photography was born! By following my instincts and truly caring about each project I've carved myself a little niche and a good reputation for producing strong, quality, attention-grabbing images.

"The reason I do photographs is to help people understand my music, so it's very important that I am the same, emotionally, in the photographs as in the music. Most people's eyes are much better developed than their ears. If they see a certain emotion in the photograph, they'll understand the music. So instead of having to listen to my album ten times, they'll get it the first time."
